Level 1 is a traffic-free course aimed at young riders aged 7-10 for mastering bike control skills.
Level 2 is a course based on local streets and gives children from school year 5 and onwards their first on-road cycling experiences. Attendees learn how to deal with moderate traffic on short journeys. Ideal for achieving skills to cycle to school.
Level 3 advances attendees skills so they may adapt to riding more challenging roads and busier traffic situations. Aimed at Adults and children from Year 7 and above, students develop skills for busier streets, complex junctions, queuing traffic, roundabouts, safest route planning. Year 6 pupils who have achieved Level 2 training can also participate.

Our Balance module is designed for younger children who are new to cycling. Using pedal-free balance bikes, children focus on the key skill of staying upright, building coordination and confidence without the distraction of pedalling. Research from the Bikeability Trust shows that around 40% of 6-year-olds struggle to ride a bike, often because moving straight from stabilisers to two wheels is too big a leap. Learning to balance first makes the transition much smoother. We provide both helmets and balance bikes, and sessions can take place indoors or outdoors.
Once children are confident with balance, they’re ready to progress to our Learn to Ride module. Here, we introduce pedalling, braking, and steering, helping them put all the skills together. This stage focuses on giving children the confidence to ride independently and enjoy the freedom of cycling.

There are so many reasons you may want to use a cycle to make a journey, like cycling to the shops, leading family leisure rides, or commuting to work. This training module is for adults who can already ride, to help them plan and enjoy cycling journeys with skill and confidence.
We also provide Learn To Ride lessons for adults.
The first step it to work out what sort of training you need. Contact us with your requirements and we will get back to you within 2 working days to arrange a suitable schedule

Our
At The Cycle Partnership Ltd we ask questions as well as get asked questions. Here are those questions, some are for you to answer, and we have answered ours:
Questions we will ask you
Q1. Does your child have a bike?
Q2. If so, does it fit them?
Q3. If so, does it have stabilisers on?
Q4. If so, can you transport the bike/s?
My child’s bike is too small for them, do you provide bikes?
Yes, we can provide bikes just let us know how old they are.
My child does not have a helmet, can we borrow one from you?
Yes of course you can.
My child has autism and sensory processing differences, can you help?
Yes we can and have in the past, it will need time and patience though.
My child has no confidence and is really scared?
This is perfectly normal, we work with them building their confidence with balance games and when we feel ready, they get the pedals and hopefully they are away after that. Patience will win the race.
My child’s cognitive ability is reduced, and he would need a very patient, flexible approach, appreciate this might not be something you could offer?
Yes of course we can help, we can only go as fast as the child or adult as pushing them will frighten them and once, they say ‘no I’m not doing it’ we have all lost. Learning to ride a bike can take time and we have plenty if required.
My bottom was sore after the first lesson, is there anything I can do?
We recommend Padded Pants, available in many stores or online, the saddles are a bit hard, and you may have been bouncing in the saddle rather than keeping all your weight on it.
If you have any others not covered here, please use the Contact us form and we will respond.
